Be Clear in Your Subject Line

Your subject line should not be too vague or long. No one will open your email if it is unclear or too long. It’s much more likely that they will open an email if the subject line is concise and clear with the name of the recipient.

You could start your sentence with “Hey Joanne,” for example. “In your subject line, the person will be more likely to open the mail that a generic mail which sounds spammy, for example, a Freelance application.

To grab attention, capitalize the first letter of each word. This is a common practice in many articles that you will find on the Internet.

Do your homework and send mails to the right person

It is useless to send emails to sales or HR personnel. Only if your mail reaches the right person, it will be of any use. When sending out pitches, personalizing your email is crucial. So do your research. You can even stalk them on LinkedIn and send them a message directly. You never know, they might respond!

Following up

Sending too many follow-up emails is not a good idea. Give yourself at least 4-5 days to follow up.

You can make yourself look desperate if you send too many emails. This will cause you to be rude and off-putting. If you don’t get a response even after a follow-up, move on.

Template #4 – For Marketers:

These emails may already have a pattern to them. It’s better to have a pattern in professional emails.
